Mercata VT and Unilever donate to Serbian hospitals to help fight COVID-19

Together we achieve more!

Unilever, with the help of distributor Mercata VT, provided a donation of 16,400 liters of Domestos Thick Bleach Pine and Domestos Thick Bleach Atlantic products for hospitals across Serbia battling COVID-19. In addition to Belgrade, the donation was distributed to 20 institutions in the following cities: Bor, Cuprija, Sabac, Valjevo, Subotica, Pancevo, Cacak, Krusevac, Kraljevo, Kragujevac, Nis and Novi Sad. The project was realized in cooperation with the Novak Djokovic Foundation.

The donation worth over 3,550,000 RSD was distributed according to the priorities and needs of hospitals, in order to keep fighting the global pandemic and ensure better hygiene and safer living conditions, both for people who are in treatment and for the medical staff.

Representatives of Unilever and Mercata VT as well as the national director of the Foundation, symbolically handed over a part of the donation to the University Clinical Center of Serbia.

“The pandemic does not subside and we, as a company, will continue to provide material assistance to hospitals throughout Serbia in the form of Domestos, which is necessary for them in order to maintain adequate hygienic conditions. From the very beginning of the pandemic, we reacted and sent help wherever help was needed, which is the responsibility and obligation of all of us. We will monitor the situation further and stay ready to react in a timely manner throughout the year and provide products to all priority institutions. We are glad and proud to be partners in this positive story, which in a way helps in provide better healthcare and faster recovery“, said Ana Durkovic, marketing manager of Unilever in Serbia.

Helping renovate rooms for children education!

At the end of 2020, Unilever and Mercata VT also supported the Novak Djokovic Foundation’s New Year’s project “Future. On time.” Which helped renovate and equip the premises for education and entertainment of children in hospitals throughout Belgrade: Institute for Maternal and Child Health of Serbia” Dr Vukan Cupic “, Hospital for Pediatrics” Dr Olga Popovic-Dedijer “and University Children’s Tirsova Clinic.

Domestos Thick Bleach Pine is a chlorine-based product and is a biocidal product that is used in addition to households in public health facilities, as well as in other public and industrial facilities. According to analyzes by independent laboratories, it destroys 99.9% of microbes, including viruses, bacteria, fungi and spores.
